About ViolaWake
ViolaWake exists because custom wake word training should not be locked behind opaque vendor workflows. The project grew out of practical voice assistant work: local wake detection, low false alarms, transparent evaluation, and a workflow normal developers can run.
What we believe
- Wake word inference should run locally.
- Developers should be able to inspect the SDK they ship.
- Accuracy claims should link to methodology.
- Proprietary vendors can be useful, but openness should be a real option.
- A browser Console can save time without making the runtime closed.
Who is building it
ViolaWake is maintained by the same builder behind the Viola voice assistant work and the public GitHub project at GeeIHadAGoodTime/ViolaWake. The project is young, but it already has the pieces that matter for an end-to-end wake word workflow: SDK, training, Console, billing, model downloads, privacy docs, and operational runbooks.
